Some unusual analyses I’ve conducted include those of William and Harry during the Christening of one of William's Children, an Australian media interview with Virginia Giuffre, a Jeffrey Epstein/Prince Andrew survivor, the famous Justin Trudeau-Daniel Smith handshake, and Olivia Chow's apology for skipping the October 7th Memorial. Check my YouTube channel for radio and TV interviews. http://bit.ly/4oaB5Z9 I’ve been called a body language expert by various media, but when I bring that up with my 40-year-old children, they roll their eyes and say, “Dad, with that body, you ain’t no expert!”
Trump Carney Conversation
When conducting body language analysis, I strive to remain apolitical. However, the influence of the particular circumstance is always an underlying factor. Donald Trump is there for one reason. To appear larger than life and to get as much attention as possible with rants about topics that have nothing to do with the occasion. Mark Carney’s goal was to be engaged, not to visibly respond to Trump's Canada-bashing, and be ready to jump into the conversation when Donald took a breath. Above all, Carney must look cool, confident and collected while in no way embarrassing Trump. The event started with Donald being cold and removed. He did not make eye contact as he looked beyond Carney. He also used his accordion hand gesture extensively, which is a sign that he is unsure of himself and possibly lying. Carney signalled that he was engaged by sitting forward on his chair (good media practice) and leaning toward Trump. He made eye contact with him. When he spoke, he looked at the President with occasional turns to the media gallery.A Wink and a Nod
I noted that on two occasions, he made a wink and a nod to the media gallery as Donald was talking. Even though he was undoubtedly recognizing someone he knew, all media liked that they were being respected, which countered Donald Trump’s fake media. As the conversation progressed, the atmosphere warmed as the two leaned towards each other, making ‘stroking’ comments about each other and throwing in spontaneous jokes, which Carney excels at. The energy level began to rise as they joked, made positive statements, and showed they obviously like each other. There was a sense of ease as Donald Trump's body became more relaxed and less tense. His facial expressions signalled he was being authentic.Active Listening
To wrap it up, one Body Language skill that Carney is a master at is Active Listening. He let Trump know he was listening through body positioning, an occasional head nod, and verbal agreement when appropriate. Click to read the full CTV article http://bit.ly/4h16U40The End
